December 14, 2003 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria welcomes the news of capture of Saddam Hussein, the despot that killed thousands of people and tyrannized millions of others. We hope that a trial of Saddam Hussein, as the trial of Slobodan Milosevic, will demonstrate to the world that genocidal regimes will eventually be brought to justice. The Chechen Republic of Ichkeria stands firmly with the international community in bringing criminal regimes and tyrannical dictators to accountability. We therefore renew our call for an independent international tribunal for Chechnya.
