Chechen refugees threatened with bulldozers

Press-service of CKNS reported that in the evening on August 6, 2003, office of ROD CKNS received this complaint of the Chechen refugees, who live in the tent camp, located at Karabulak in the territory of the production association'Avtodor ', (in immediate proximity of the large tent town'Bart '). As witnessed by refugees from Chechnya, real threat is overhanging above them to remain without the roof overhead.

Head of the'Avtodor ' camp, Gorchkhanov asked Chechen refugees to immediately leave the territory of the camp, threatening them otherwise to level tents by bulldozers. Gorchkhanov argued that the migratory service of Ingushetia did not pay lease money to his organization. In this camp are 28 tents, where are living 33 families (190 people), among whom are 61 women and 26 children of pre-school age.

Chechen refugees decided to transfer tents to the territory of the'Bart ' town, which is located approximately in several meters from'Avtodor ' camp (these camps are separated by a small concrete wall). However, the commandant of the'Bart ' camp categorically forbade the forced migrants to move into this tent town, after stating that in this case he will mobilize local militia and liquidate tents with the application of physical force. Moreover, he threatened people that they will be deprived from the payment of allowance and will be excluded from the lists of the forced migrants, if they decided to shift to'Bart '. Thus, 190 Chechen refugees actually risk to remain without the roof overhead. No requests and persuasions affect the management of 'Avtodor ' and the commandant of the'Bart ' camp. Deceited with their authority, the authorities demonstrate sheer indifference to the problems for tens of deprived families created by them. This occurs, in spite of the numerous statements of the President of the Republic of Ingushetia, Murat Zyazikov that no forced measures for the return of Chechen refugees were taken or would be taken.

The field engineers called by marionettes were forced to render harmless the explosive device planted by invaders for purposes of provocation. Nevertheless, the known fairy-teller from the occupational staff, Colonel Shabalkin stated that subdivisions of occupational forces avoided a large-scale'terrorist act ', allegedly, in Avtorkhanov district of the Chechen capital.
