Chechen villagers rally over young girl's abduction

About 1,000 residents of the Chechen village of Samashki, mostly women and children, blocked traffic on the Kavkaz highway on Monday. The action was triggered by the abduction of a 16-year-old villager, Eliza Katsayeva, by unidentified masked people last Saturday. Protesters blocked the traffic through a checkpoint on the highway. Dozens of cars have piled up on the road. The rally participants say that they want to meet representatives from the pro-Moscow administration and the Russian forces in the North Caucasus.
