A 16-YEAR OLD GIRL KIDNAPPED IN CHECHNYA



GROZNY, 2 August. /RIA Novosti correspondent/. Early Saturday morning unknown kidnappers seized a 16-year old girl in the Samashki settlement of the Achkhoi-Martan district of Chechnya.

According to the information from the administration of the Achkhoi-Martan district, at 5.00 AM Moscow time 7 unknown armed and camouflaged people entered the house and kidnapped Eliza Katsayeva, a
16-year old resident of the settlement.

In connection with the kidnapping of the girl residents of the settlement organized an unauthorized meeting in front of the administrative building of the settlement demanding to take urgent measures to immediately release her.

Causes of the incident are being investigated. Search for kidnappers was initiated.

Abduction of girl in Chechen village sparks protest rally


Residents of the Chechen village of Samashki protested against rampant crime and abductions on Saturday morning. "The protesters are demanding that law-enforcement agencies stop criminals abducting people," the head of the Achkhoi-Martan district administration Ali Dalnayev told Interfax. The rally was triggered by the abduction of a 16-year old girl this morning. About seven armed people wearing masks broke into a house in the village and abducted Eliza Katsayeva. The criminals have not been found yet. The law-enforcement agencies are searching for the girl.
