Chechen
refugees get robbed and beaten in Slovakia
Chechen
Press news agency has published the letter by Chechen refugees living
in Slovakia.
Magomed and Marimat Dashayev are reporting about the atrocities and
harassment committed against Chechen refugees by Slovakian policemen
and by the administration of Adamovo refugee camp (city of Adamov-Dvor).
«Upon our arrival to Adamovo refugee camp, the police took all
of our money and gave us some checks in exchange. When we demanded that
they return the money, the policemen stated that the money was seized
as a fine for “illegally crossing into the territory of Slovakia».
We were shoved into a poky little room, where there already were several
Chechen other refugees living. They told that the police took their
money as well, and gave them the same checks that they gave us. But
there is nothing you can buy on these checks and nobody knows what these
papers are.
Several Chechen guys refused to give their money in exchange for those
«checks», after which they were arrested and taken to the
city of Adamov-Dvor. There the Chechens were handcuffed and
the police brutally beat them. The police were asking them humiliating
questions like «what’s a Chechen wedding night like?»
etc.
My
mother and I had to sell my mother’s earrings and my golden necklace
to one local lady to get out of the camp. We spent that money for the
road, and when we were leaving Adamovo, the police almost shot us, as
I wrote earlier.
If you are interested in these questions, I have gathered the information
on how Chechen refugees are accepted in Hungary, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden and in other European
countries».
