2 energy workers kidnapped in Chechnya
Two workers of a local energy company have been kidnapped in Chechnya.
A source in the NurEnergo joint stock company reported on Friday that
the two men had been sent to mend power mains near the
village of Selmentauzen. After completing the work, the specialists
stopped for a night in a private house in the village of Mekhety. At
night, a gang of unidentified men broke into the house where the
energy workers were staying, beat them and forced them to leave. The
kidnappers have not been identified. The company has already addressed
the local authorities and law enforcers with a request to help find
the kidnapped men.
