Woman blasted in Groznyy

In the afternoon of August 6, a young woman was wounded by a booby-trap in Leninsky district of Groznyy.

The tragic event reportedly occurred at 2 p. m. when a young woman Milana Yevloyeva went out to pick some fruits in a court yard of a desolated building in Bogdan Khmelnitskiy street.

While the woman was crossing the bushed yard the blast came up. The booby-trap triggered when Milana touched the device. The woman received serious shrapnel wounds and was transported to the 9th city hospital in Groznyy. The doctors reported her condition as very grave.

A police officer of district department said the woman probably turned out a victim of a booby-trap concealed by Russian servicemen. "There is a Russian checkpoint several meters off the site where the blast occurred. Actually, the soldiers set booby-traps at the adjacent area to prevent assaults of militants."

On the contrary the military commandant's office claimed the woman was wounded by a land mine or any explosive device planted by militants.
