Basayev takes responsibility
for Znamenskoye explosion and death of Gazimagomadov
In a brief interview to Shariah news agency Amir (Commander) of the sabotage and
reconnaissance brigade of Chechen Shaheeds (attackers) «Riyadus Salihiin»
Abdallah Shamil Abu-Idris answered to the statements of the so-called attorney
general’s office of the Kremlin bandit regime, which appeared in mass media
regarding «launching criminal prosecution» on the involvement in the
blast of the compounds of the puppet administration in Jokhar on December 27,
2002. This text was forwarded to Kavkaz Center information agency by Shariah agency
last Saturday night. Earlier the statement of the Chechen Commander was published
in the Voice of Jihad newspaper.
«Russian authorities made a statement saying that if my direct involvement
in the blast of that cesspool is proven, then criminal prosecution will be launched
against me. Thus, in spite of my own statement published on the pages of the media
of State Defense Council («Majlis al-Shura») of CRI and on Chechen
websites, Russian authorities apparently decided to maintain my ‘presumption
of innocence’.
«I am stating one more time that according to the plan jointly developed
with the family of Shaheeds, I did not only take part in that blast, but I myself
pushed the button on the remote control of the explosive devices that were in
the vehicles. I was watching at a distance, and when the vehicles disappeared
from the eyeshot and entered the premises of the puppet administration compounds,
I pushed the button. There was a little miscalculation that I made during that
operation: our vehicles were a little bit late because of the motorcade going
in the opposite direction near the entrance to the premises of the puppet administration
compounds, - our vehicles were a few dozens of meters away from where they were
supposed to explode».
«I would also like to clarify the situation concerning the Shaheeds who
annihilated the «cesspool». In our statement we said that the operation
on blowing up the compounds was carried out by one family – the father,
the son, and the daughter, whose mother and older brother were killed by Kadyrov’s
men. After this statement was published, the mass media including some of the
Ichkerian media started bringing it down to personal revenge. It is not true.
Shaheeds do not resort to personal revenge. They were taking revenge for our desecrated
religion, for our entire nation, for our land, and for the entire Islamic Ummah».
Amir Abdallah Shamil also commented on the media report that commander of pro-Moscow
special police unit (OMON) M. Gazimagomedov was wounded and later died.
«National traitor Gaza-Magomadov was ambushed and gunned by the Mujahideen
(fighters) on the way from Jokhar, after which his car got out of control and
ran into a car coming from the opposite direction».
