Abductors set known Chechen doctor and masseur Khamzat Osmayev free
Khamzat Osmayev, the known Chechen doctor and body-builder abducted from his consulting room in the village of Pliyevo on January 12, was found in Ingushetia's Sunzhensky district. Having savagely beaten and tortured him, the abductors set him down on an abandoned lot not far from the Magas airport in the evening of January 26. He was taken to a local hospital in grave condition. According to Khamzat Osmayev relatives, his life is in no danger now.
The 50-year old doctor and masseur Khamzat Osmayev was abducted by security agents straight from his consulting room on January 12. The gunmen in masks and camouflage uniform forced him in a car and taken him away. Neither Osmayev himself nor his relatives are aware of the reasons for his detention. Ingush law-enforcement agencies also refrain from making comments.

Residents of Starye Atagui village have been living without water
forfour years
The other day a reporter of the Information Center at the Society forthe Russian-Chechen Friendship visited Starye Atagui village of Groznyrural district where he met with some local people. Residents of thevillage complained that there has been no drinkable water in the villagesince the second war campaign broke out. The water-tower situated in thecenter of the village was seriously damaged four years ago. The problemis very urgent for the village as a hospital, a maternity hospital andthree schools situated in the village.
At present a unit of the federal forces and a checkpoint are situatednear the water-tower. The residents of the village have turned to thelocal administration and to the pro-Moscow government of the republicmany times with the request to restore the water-tower but all theirappeals have brought no result yet. The residents have to buy water thatis brought from the neighboring villages including Goyty village that issituated just a few kilometers from Starye Atagui. A 40-liter waterchurn costs four rubles. But this quantity of water isn’t enough for afamily consisting of five or seven members.
So people have to take water from the Argun River that is ratherpolluted. It results in the increase if the sickness rate of the localpopulation. In Starye Atagui children suffer mostly, in comparison withchildren from neighboring villages.

State secret disclosed in the book about terrorist acts
RUSSIA, Moscow. Editor-in-chief of PRIMA News Agency AlexanderPodrabinek was told when he was questioned today by FSB, that criminalproceedings had been instigated in connection with disclosure of statesecret in the books FSB Blows Up Russia and LCG - Lubyanka CriminalGroup. 29 December last year the book FSB Blows Up Russia bought byPRIMA in batch, was confiscated as part of the criminal case.
Criminal case No 218 for disclosing state secret was started in Junelast year. There are no accused in the case. During questioning seniorinvestigator of FSB’s Investigation Department lieutenant AlexanderSoima told Mr. Podrabinek that copies of the book FSB Blows Up Russia byAlexander Litvinenko and Yuriy Felshtinskiy were confiscated as materialevidence. He also added that the book, as well as another book by Mr.Litvinenko LCG - Lubyanka Criminal Gang, will be withdrawn from sales.The investigator stated that there is experts’ report concerning bothbooks and this is enough to withdraw them.
Mr. Podrabinek, who was questioned as a witness, was asked about theconditions of the sale contract signed by PRIMA Agency to purchase thebook FSB Blows Up Russia. Mr. Podrabinek refused to answer the questionssaying that it was nothing to do with the matter of state secretdisclosure. Mr. Podrabinek also refused to sign an undertaking not todisclose information obtained by preliminary investigation that becameknown to him. One of FSB investigators said that the case of Mr.Podrabinek’s refusal to give evidence would be passed on to Prosecutor’soffice.
In the course of the questioning Alexander Podrabinek handed over to theinvestigator Mr. Litvinenko’s consent to be questioned by FSB oncondition that it would take place in London. The investigator declinedthe offer to question Mr. Litvinenko.

Book "FSB Blows Up Russia" can be distributed by anyone who wishes
People who want to print and distribute the seditious books "FSB BlowsUp Russia" and "LCG – Lubyanka Criminal Group" on the territory of theRussian Federation can do it freely, without being afraid to infringeupon authors' rights, the Foundation for Civil Liberties announcedyesterday.
"Our foundation came to an agreement with the authors and received alicense to print and distribute these books in Russia, and we grantthese rights free of charge to anyone who wishes to do it," head of thefoundation Aleksandr Goldfarb said to the Grani.Ru Internet media. "Boththe books are much in demand. We think that enterprising people who willstart printing them will earn good money. The Federal Security Service(FSB) will obviously hunt for the books, but it will only create thegreater demand and the return."
After the foundation's decision, no extra license to print anddistribute the books is required.

On situation about act of terror in "Nord-Ost" Theatre
The antiterrorist center of the ChRI has documentary proofs that President Putin, extremely worried with the increase of frequency of the publications accusing him of organization of hostage-taking terrorist act in "Nord-Ost" theater resulting in destruction of 129 hostages, as well as with the hearings held in the USA and investigation by FBI of the murder of their citizen with gas used by the FSB forces in the theatre building, committed a task to the Federal Service of Security of Russia:
1. In the shortest time to fabricate materials charging the leadership of the ChRI with perpetration of this terrorist act;
2. To compromise President Aslan Maskhadov and his associates through the mass media controlled by special services;
3. To make available the "alibi" of those representatives of Russia's leadership and special services, who took part in this provocation and are to blame for destruction of people. Lost of
Executing the instruction of the President, Director of the FSB Patrushev has formed an interdepartmental operation and investigation group consisting of the most reliable employees of the FSB, MIA and Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, the chief task of which includes:
" Making secret all facts exposing the high-rank officials of Russia's leadership and special services as committers of this act of terror; " Destruction of all evidences and witnesses who can make public the proofs of their participation in the given crime.
The group is headed by Vladimir Kalchuk, with a train of ordered criminal cases, facts of bribery and other malfeasanses stretching behind him.
It was Kalchuk, who, together with Romodanovsky (the General of the FSB acting reserve, attached to the Internal Ministry), organized the murder of the FSB agent Terkibaev, fabrication of a criminal case against col. Taratorin of Moscow Criminal Investigation Department and lawyer Trepashkin (the witnesses of the case, who are under arrest at present), destruction of the evidences of the criminal case.
The murder of provocateur Terkibaev, the last alive participant in hostage-taking terrorist act in the theatre on Dubrovka, was committed by the employees of Russia's special services after it had become known to the FSB that their agent would have been interrogated by the FBI investigators.
The antiterrorist center of the ChRI continues to watch closely the operative situation developing around the FSB provocation related to hostage-taking and killing the hostages in the building of "Nord-Ost" Theater.
