Forced disappearance in Shali

Today, on 4 February 2003, a resident of the village Serzhen-Yurt of Shali district Idris Adamovich Dakhayev, born in 1974, was captured in his home in Naberezhnaya street by the unknown people in masks and camouflage, about 12 people who dove in two white UAZ cars with  darkened windows. The relatives of the detainee applied to the law-enforcement bodies and prosecutor's office of the district, as well as to the head of regional department of the Russian-Chechen Friendship Society Imran Ezhiyev.

I.Ezhiyev, having a mandate of the head of the monitoring program of Moscow Helsinki Group "For Human Rights", visited today all confinement cells of Shali district Police station, but all his efforts to find out anything about Idris Dakhayev have been vain. According to the chiefs of force structures of the district, they have nothing common with the detention of Dakhayev.
