1999 Bomb Inquiry
MOSCOW (MT) -- A Moscow court on Tuesday ruled against human rights activist
and lawmaker Sergei Kovalyov, who went to court to demand the Prosecutor
General's Office let him see documents relating to an investigation of the 1999
Ryazan bomb scare, Interfax reported.
The scare, which the Federal Security Service later claimed was a training
exercise, led to suspicions of government involvement in the apartment-building
bombings that killed more than 300 people the same year.
