Professor U.Ezhiev's sons kidnapped
On the night of 9 March 2003, in Staropromislov district of the Chechen capital Grozny, the Russian servicemen kidnapped two brothers Ezhaevs - Ruslan and Arby Umalatovich. Certain details of the incident have become known today. At about 00.30 am, the Russian soldiers in masks broke into the Ezhaevs' house. At that moment Ruslan Ezhaev, his wife and two little children, as well as his old father Umala Ezhaev, participant of the Great Patriotic War, professor, Honored Teacher of the Russian Federation, teacher of the Chechen State University, were at home. Having locked Ruslan's wife in one of the rooms, the Russians covered Ruslan's fhead with a shirt and began beating him. Afterwards, they dragged him out of the house. The old man tried to ask them where they were taking him, but the soldiers severely beat the old professor and left him lying unconscious on the floor.
About an hour later, having broken the windows and doors, a group of Russian servicemen burst into the house of Arby Ezhaev. And again, they locked the woman in one of the rooms, and beat her husband severely. They also gave several hits to the Ezhievs' little son. Then they left taking with them Arby Ezhaev. All attempts of their relaitives to find out anything about the further fate of the brothers turned out to be vain. Ruslan and Arby Ezhaevs are missing.
