RIAN: A part of Chechen diaspora ( S. Khadzhiyev) supports the referendum

GROZNY, March 14, 2003 /from a RIA Novosti correspondent/. A group of representatives of the Chechen diaspora in Moscow, headed by academician Salambek Khadzhiyev, declared their support for the referendum on Chechnya's constitution.

According to Khadzhieyv, they came to Chechnya to outline their standpoint and support the forthcoming referendum. "I am convinced that the referendum will give a powerful progressive impulse and will contribute to the political processes in the republic," Khadzhiyev told a joint press conference in the Government House in Grozny on Friday. Chechnya's head Akhmad Kadyrov also took part in the press conference.
