On December 19, 2002, a beheaded corpse of the employee of district police
department Isa Gakaev, b. in 1971, was found in Voykovo of Oktyabrsky district
of the Chechen capital. The militiaman was captured in his home by the Russians
on 16 December 2002. According to the relatives of Gakaev, Isa was an eye-witness
of the
criminal action committed by the Russian servicemen when they were robbing
one of the local residents house. So, they decided to get rid of him.
The eye-witnesses said, there were multiple signs of torture on the body
of Gakaev, and the corpse was so maimed and disfigured that his relatives
identified it only by the clothes.Isa Gakaev left a wife and two children.
He was buried on 20 December in Urus-Martan.
