From displaced persons living in a tent camp “Bela” of the stanitsa
Sleptsovskaya, Republic of Ingushetia
On 15 December 2002 , the administration of our camp informed us that Migration
Service left out of allowances 1887 refugees living in tent camp “Bela”.
They also required of these people to leave the camp. They did not give any explanations,
though some of the refugees have been told that this is the initiative of the
”Chechen Committee for Refugees”. As to the camp administration, the
officials made it clear that we can be rehabilitated incase we pay them 500 roubles.
We cannot return home. We have already informed the authorities in written form
that we are going to stay in “Bela” this winter. In spite of this
we have been excluded from the computer base of data on refugees.
We ask your support to be rehabilitated in the list of the refugees who get the
humanitarian allowances.
For the last seven months we have not got any food products from the state (Migration
Service, Ministry of Internal Affairs).
We ask your assistance in rehabilitation in the list of the refugees. We ask you
to defend fom those who plunder, rob and terrorize us.
