Seven people have been abducted and three killed in Chechnya's Grozny, Argun, and a number of other communities in the past two days, the headquarters of the Russian Combined Federal Forces in the North Caucasus told Interfax on Friday.
In the village of Bolshiye Varandy in the Shatoi district, unidentified attackers fired upon the house of acting head of the Shatoi district administration Ruslan Zemilkhanov, the headquarters said. In Grozny's Zavodskoi district, gunmen attacked police officer Aslanbek Saralapov. In Grozny's Oktyabrsky district, unidentified people in masks took three local policemen in an unknown direction under threat of weapons. The headquarters said terrorists have continued to exert psychological pressure on the Chechen population. In addition to acts of terrorism and subversion in several communities in the Shali district, guerillas circulated leaflets threatening locals working at restored facilities and collaborating with the authorities. Chechen law enforcement agencies together with military commandant offices are taking measures to identify the criminals and detain them.
