All of them were detained on 30 July 2002 in the centre of Grozny, at the
bus-stop on the junction of Chernishevskaya and Revolution streets. According
to the eye-witnesses, the above-mentioned 11 people were detained by the
employees of Chechen militia and one of the Russian special services departments.
In the course of detention operation the representatives of force structures
began chaotic shooting. As a result, two detainees, were injured - Ruslan
Ismailov was wounded in the head, and Abu Magomadov - in the leg. In spite
of this they were taken to the militia department together with the others.
The relatives of the detainees applied to all bodies of authorities and force
structures to help them in search of the 11 captured people, but nothing
is known about them. Ten days later, at the same bus-stop, people in masks
and camouflage captured Umar Omaev, born in 1956, a photographer. Nothing
is known about his further fate.
